Many females in submission to a freaky man in a fantasy world created by Zack Snyder. Story? Who needs a freakin’ story? Sucker Punch.
I bought the storyline. As in, I didn’t find it silly or cheesy. The problem was that the story I watched bored me to tears. TEARS….of pain and sorrow. I wanted to sleep. I did. And if it weren’t for the fact that I would have wasted money, I would have. It’s so rare that I want to sleep during a film. Sometimes it’s due to sleepy deprivation, but this was honestly, because I was bored.
The main character in the picture I picked reminds me of someone out of Final Fantasy. Well, she looks like a character that would come out of Final Fantasy. The costumes, the visuals, the music was all awesome and something I expect from Zack Snyder. If this were a painting I would speak praises, but it’s not. It’s a movie and movies should be based on good scripts. Sucker Punch proves that looks alone do not make up for lack of substance. You could tie in a life lesson here, but that’s not the point.
I’m going to listen to Emily Browning (Baby Doll) sing “Sweet Dreams”. Speaking of that great cover (to my ears, for all you music Nazis), that was an interesting scene at the beginning. He’s really good with the visuals. The story was worse than suck. It was so bad. Hopefully he’s not touching Superman’s story and just sticks to directing. It might work out awesomely. Otherwise, it’ll just be another sucker punch.
I write like: Cory Doctorow
