Weekend Box Office Recap

"The Town" takes the top spot with a lazy $23 million.

I have to ask here: What's with the nifty costumes when you're robbing a bank? I mean, in "Point Break" they were all wearing masks of US Presidents. In "The Dark Knight" everyone wore creepy joker masks... are we running out of costume ideas, fellas? Do you really think that wearing a nuns habbit with a rubber mask is something that is going to be easy to manuver in, get rid of and look inconspicuous with?  I dont get it.

The biggest loser for the weekend was "Resident Evil: Afterlife 3D Extreme Collassal Super Mega No Trans Fat Movie" (Im guessing that's it's full title) - falling 62% from its previous weekend numbers.

"Eat Pray Love," "The Expendables" "Going the Distance" and "The Last Exorcism" all fell out of the list.

Here's the top ten according to studio estimates released on Sunday:

1 (new) The Town $23,800,000
2 (new) Easy A $18,200,000
3 (new) Devil $12,584,320

5 (new) Alpha and Omega 3D $9,200,000
