RIP: Tony Curtis 1925 - 2010

Actor Tony Curtis has died. He was 87.

Born Bernard Schwartz, Tony appeared in over 100 films including "Some Like it Hot," "The Great Race" and "Sparticus."

Though he never won an Oscar (one of the things he felt disappointed about) he was awarded the Sony Ericsson Empire Lifetime Achievement Award, the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres from France and has a star on the Hollywood Walk of fame.

He was married six times. His first wife was Janet Leigh and is the father of Jamie-Lee Curtis.

He died in his home in Henderson Nevada of cardiac arrest.

He was an actor from the golden age of Hollywood. He hung with the likes of Sinatra, kanoodled with Marilyn Monroe, was a well-established surrealist painter and a notable author. He will be missed.
