Weekend Box Office Recap

It was no contest this weekend as Warner Bros. "Inception" walked away from the competition, raking in $60.4 million and became Leonardo DiCaprio's biggest opening weekend of his career.  The mind-bending film is currently sitting at 84% fresh at Rotten Tomatoes. Michael Phillips from the Chicago Tribune said, "It's gratifying to experience a summer movie with large visual ambitions and with nothing more or less on its mind than (as Shakespeare said) a dream that hath no bottom."

Second place went to last week's hit, "Despicable Me" making a little more than half of what Inception brought in.

The other opener this week, Disney's "The Sorcer's Apprentice" came in a disappointing third.

Biggest loser of the week goes to "Predators" which fell 72% from its opening day totals to fall from 3rd to 8th place.

And falling out of the chart entirely was "Cyrus" and "The A-Team."
