As a man, I'm not ashamed to admit that I was a fan of the HBO series "Sex & The City." I thought it was funny, very well written and was showing something that none of the other networks would even touch at the time. Since then, knock off's have popped up and out (ABC's short lived "Concrete Jungle" seemd to be about the most obvious copycat). But there was apparently a market for this kind of female-targeted comedy.
When the SATC movie came out, I kinda figured that the show had run its course, but perhaps a final coda to entertain all the fans wouldnt be too bad. We get to see what happens to everyone, how it all works out and the show can have its finale on the big screen.
And then it was decided to do ANOTHER film and my brain just turned off.
There is no reason to continue the story of these four women. The characters have already done everything, experienced everything and have had their "happily ever afters" a couple of times over now, so why on earth would I feel the need to revisit these women yet again?
Because HBO thinks they can beat the dead horse one more time and New Line needs the money.
So with that thought in mind, here's the trailer for the upcoming "Sex and the City 2:"
My advice: buy the series and watch those instead. It will be far more entertaining.
