Will Hollywood Kill 3D? Again?

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Warner Bros. is ordering test prints of the new "Clash of the Titans" to see if it can be converted into 3D in order to hop on the silly, gimmick-riddled bandwagon that Hollywood seems compelled to drive back into the grave from whence it came. They will decide in about 10 days if the conversion is worth it, so they can charge a premium price on top of an already valueless box office ticket.

Seriously, are people really that excited about 3D technology that they are willing to pay even more money for a ticket and some goofy glasses? This seems exactly like what studios started doing in the 50's when it seems like every schlocky, sci-fi and horror movie could be improved by simply making it 3D and having lots of shots of things flying toward the camera.

I'd love to hear your thoughts. Would you pay more to see Clash of the Titans in 3D? Add your comments below.
