Weekend Box Office Recap
According tostudio estimates, this weekend was the biggest single weekend at the box office for all movies combined.
Avatar made $75 million over the weekend, falling a slight 2.5% from its opening day numbers. James Cameron's opus has cleared a 10-day domestic gross of $212 million.
Sherlock Holmes cleared $65 million in its own right.
And because there were families with nothing better to do than to shove their kids in front of a movie screen to shut them up for a few hours, the horrible "Alvin and the Chipmunks: the Squeakquel" came in third, making over $50 mil.
