Weekend Box Office Recap

Peter Jackson's sci-fi flick "District 9" dominated the box office, bringing in $37 million, according to studio estimates on Sunday. Not bad for a movie that only cost $30 to make.

Meanwhile, last week's opener "G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra" fell a shocking 58% from its opening numbers. Are people finally tired of big action, computer generated chaos and explosions? Sure looks that way. You can tell we're in the home stretch of the Summer season.
