Every time I see this, I cant help but giggle.
Brett Michaels, formerly of the 80's band Poison, paused at the end of his performance on the Tony awards to wave to the 20 or 30 people that remember who Brett Michaels is. And because Michaels paused, he didn't time his jump back onto the set that was quickly being obscured by a big-ass set piece that was being lowered to the stage.
Apparently Michaels suffered a broken nose, cut lip and a severely bruised ego as the set piece flattened him like a linebacker.
Janna Elias of Michaels Entertainment Group says "had this incident happened to Liza Minnelli, Dolly Parton or Elton John the Tonys would have at least issued a letter of concern."
That might be true, but since it happened to the front man of a barely memorable, has-been, 80's glam rock band, the Tony's have instead left us with this little piece of live TV awesomeness:
