Michael Bay Quitting Transformers?

Someone call the "Waaaambulance:" Michael Bay doesn't want to deal with whinny, over-opinionated movie critics anymore:

According to movietickets.com, Bay says he's grown tired of the hassles that surround doing one of his typical story-be-damned, blow-up-everything-in-sight big budget movies:
"It's easy to go shoot an art movie in a winery in the South of France. But people have no idea how hard it is to create something like Transformers. They (the critics) review me before they've even seen the movie."
Aawwww, Poor baby!

“After the three and a half years I’ve spent making these movies, I feel like I’ve had enough of the Transformers world. “I need to do something totally divergent, something without any explosions.”

Right. We all believe you, Michael.

And when that arthouse pic with the believable characters, legitimate story arc and well written dialog flops at the box office, my guess is you'll be begging to blow something up for a gajillion dollars pretty quickly.

Clearly, the man needs a break. Maybe he can hang out with Sean Penn for a year and charge up his batteries.
