Weekend Box Office Recap

OK, the Summer movie season is officially underway with a monumental opening weekend for the X-Men sequel. Hugh Jackman's mutton chops brought in $87 million for the opening bow, bringing in more money than the rest of the films in the top ten combined. While not as strong as Iron Man's open from this same time last year ($102 million), its a solid open for a film that looks destined to be a real contender for several box office records.

The second place finisher in the box office race made about five times less than the number one film.
