Hollywood continues to mine the fertile soil of TV shows from the previous era. So far this genre has been a miss, for example remaking a franchise that should have remaied dead in the first place.
Raffaella De Laurentiis (Dino’s daughter) is shopping around for a top-notch writer to adapt the campy 80's TV show to the big screen and apparently New Line is on board to produce and distribute.
"We think we're a stick of chewing gum, a paper clip and an A-list writer away from a global franchise," New Line's Richard Brener tells The Hollywood Reporter.
"Heh," said everyone else in the room while rolling their eyes.
You realize this means that we will be tortured by Will Forte doing more unfunny "MacGruder" skits on Saturday Night Live. Great, Will! Because the first 37 of them that you did were so exceedingly unfunny, let's keep beating that dead horse until we all want to jam forks into our eyes.
