Frank Martin (Jason Statham) is back to do another job. This time he was not asked so kindly to do it. He doesn’t take to being forced into jobs very well. So of course he fights and he fights well. Transporter 3.
I really like Transporter. I did not like the second one and I can state that the third one is one that I liked slightly better. I am so disappointed. The concept is easy. The reason I liked Transporter is because of the great fight scenes and especially the one in the oil with the bike pedals. Fantastic.
The third one drops the concept for something that just asks for it to be crapped on. It decides it’s a great idea to introduce a love into the equation. No. This is an action adventure as one can see by the genres above. It is not a romance. Introducing romance into the film that is based on action is an injection of DEATH.
This is why Mission Impossible II was a failure. You can’t make a great guy flick and then flip it in the second one (or in this case the third) and expect guys to be that gullible. I really wish they would stop deballing action movies. Just because there are metrosexuals in existence doesn’t mean action films should follow suit.
There are a couple of cool action sequences that are, of course, far fetched. But that’s why I love the first one. With him using his clothes in fights or a car jumping on a train. I don’t care how realistic the fights are as long as they are entertaining and awesome. The problem was that said fights happened with massive blocks of bookends of boring.
The beginning with the fishing boat is funny. The end is also just as amusing, but again that’s just more bookend moments. They needed to have this throughout the film along with great action. You would think with a director with the last name Megaton that action would come naturally. Oops.
It’s 1 hour and 43 minutes long. That’s about 47 minutes shorter than Australia and I fell asleep in which one? Transporter 3. The second one was disappointing and this one, in a series of three, is the second disappointment. If they plan on a fourth they better bring back what they did in the first or just send it straight to DVD so I don’t feel the urge to think they learned something and find out they decided on failing.
