Two more films get released this weekend. One is Jack Black as an animated panda kicking ass and one is Adam Sandler as yet-another half-baked, Zoolander-ish hairdresser.
Here are the synopsis and trailers for each. Clicking on the poster will take you to the films official website.
Kung Fu Panda (PG)
Martial arts masters must turn gentle, lazy Po the Panda into a Kung Fu fighter to save their valley when it is discovered that he bears the mark of a hero foretold in an ancient prophesy.
Judge's Take: it looks good, and Dreamworks takes the time to focus on not just great animation, but a quality script, so this film is my pick for the weekend. Its not going to break any records, but it'll be a big hit. Will it be as good or as big as Shrek? I don't think so, but there's not a better reason to escape the Summer heat.
You Dont mess with the Zohan (PG-13)
A Mossad agent fakes his death so he can move to New York and pursue a career as a hair stylist.
Judge's Take: Oy vey. Adam Sandler with a really bad Hebrew accent and the usual fish-out-of-water zany escapades one can expect from a cheezy Sandler flick. I have absolutely no interest in seeing this one. None at all. If it weren't for Sandler, guys like Rob Schneider would probably never get any work.
