Tivo Brings YouTube to Your TV

In a deal announced recently, Tivo's CEO Tom Rogers said the broadband connection in late model Tivo boxes could become an important delivery channel for content creators in the future. To facilitate that, Tivo has inked a deal with YouTube that will allow Tivo viewers to directly access YouTube content from their television sets.

So now you can watch the "Chocolate Rain" song and other annoyingly bad video on your big screen, instead of just the computer screen.

Tivo also said that users will be able to log directly into their YouTube accounts from the interface and access their list of favorite vids.

Its all part of what the industry is calling "media extenders." In other words, systems and components designed to blur the line between the television and the computer as stand-alone entertainment devices.

Expect more products and inventions to be announced soon.
