How to help a needy website finally get its name

After a year of discussing it, we've finally reached an agreement with the individual that owns our "mediamorgue.com" domain name and now we are moving forward to attempt to raise the funds necessary to make the purchase.

Media Morgue has been a labor of love for over a year now. In that time, we have posted over 1,100 articles and hopefully made over 70,000 people laugh, think, or have their eyes opened. Maybe we've pissed off a few people in the process as well. Good! We strive to provide the best possible content as often as possible and will continue to do this for many years to come.

If you are a regular reader of Media Morgue, we hope that you will find it in your hearts to help us in this process of purchasing our name so that we can once and for all be a stand-alone ".com" like the million or so other websites out there.

Click on the donate button in the column to the right to make a donation. All proceeds go straight back into making this site the best it possibly can be. In other words, this isnt anyone's beer money and we certainly are not getting rich on it.

As an added bonus, if you donate, we'll send you a hand-written note by our pathetic friend pictured here. He was once a studio executive, but because he was the person that greenlit such films as "From Justin to Kelly," "Catwoman," "I know who Killed Me" and that film that Jessica Simpson was in that no one saw, he's been a little down on his luck.

Please donate if you can. And thanks.

Ok, so maybe not....

Just how much is this domain going to cost? Private email is fine. Inquiring minds want to know.

Ok, so maybe it's more like nosy people want to know.....

The owner of the domain name has agreed to sell it for $100. It shouldnt take too long to raise the funds, but since this site is run completly out of pocket and my wife considers it a hobby, I cant use any of my regular income to help.

Your poor friend! He's really hit hard times! Being an exec isn't like it use to be. :(

His poor suit! It's in tatters!
