A seventh son of a seventh son is told he is to save the world as a hero of light against the villain of dark. The Seeker: The Dark is Rising.

It was a movie that was a little too simple. Children movies should be simple but they should not be so simple that they are only skimming the surface and deciding to ignore depth for the simplicity.

The good? The good was that this movie had Gregory Smith. I like him because of Everwood and it was nice to see him in a movie. He did a good job. But the person that did the most awesome job and made the movie bearable is Alexander Ludwig as Will Stanton. His acting made the movie. If he was not in the movie I don’t think I would have liked it up to a B it would have been far less.

Also the other good was the ending. The ending is very predictable but the way it was presented was very heartwarming and is one of the reasons for my grade. It was a very well done happy ending that could give out warmth to those that are able to accept it.

If you don’t like the trailer you most likely will not like The Seeker. I thought it was alright. But it did not have any danger in it. The villain was too nice and there was no thrill to what was going on. The best part of The Seeker was Ludwig and he does have the power of the light for without him the movie would have been too bland to care about.
