A good weekend for the movies this time around. The Russel Crowe/ Christian Bale remake of the western "3:10 to Yuma" made a respectable, albeit not huge opening, while Rob Zombie's remake of "Halloween" dropped almost 62% from its previous week's premiere. Yuma is in the widest release
Meanwhile, Matt Damon's sequel "The Bourne Ultimatum" made a respectable $5 mil. and still managed to beat Clive Owen and Paul Giamatti's mindless romp through the unabashedly violent action flick "Shoot em Up." Judging from the trailer we posted back in July, we had a pretty good sense this film was going to blow chunks. Its still got a 64% approval rating at Rotten Tomatoes, but came in 6th in the box office race overall.
Here's the breakdown from this weekend.
