Brad Pitt and Ed Norton will be reteaming to star in "State of Play," Universal Pictures' adaptation of the British TV drama series originally starring David Morrissey, John Simm and Bill Nighy.
According to Variety, this has been a high-priority project for Universal, who won the rights to the miniseries at an auction. It tells the story of a newspaper's investigation into the death of a young woman, and centers around the relationship between the paper's head journalist (played by Pitt) and his old friend, the woman's employer (Norton).
Pitt signed on to the project as soon as the script had gone through a re-write by "Bourne Ultimatium" writer Tony Gilroy. Norton has been on board for a while, and will start shooting this one sometime in November, as soon as production is wrapped on "the Incredible Hulk."
This will be the first time the duo have worked together since Fight Club in 1999.
