"What was great about Atonement was that the director was very much on the ball with what he wanted, so when you were doing something it was at his behest," said McAvoy."So much so that at one point he was getting so into it and telling us what to do, as he was off camera he went ‘Alright Keira, wank him off!’"
...According to James, everything went quiet and the crew didn’t know what to do so he and Keira just looked at each other, because they were still kissing and sort of went ‘just carry on’,"
In Mr. Wright's defense, when you are directing two rather attractive individuals in a love scene, I am sure it is quite a challenge to remember that you are sitting in the director's chair of a multi-million dollar film and not, as the above article implies, sitting in your arm chair at home watching porn with a box of kleenix and a jar of vaseline.
I wonder if there is going to be a director's cut of this film.
