Seth and Evan have one last school year together and then BOOM college life starts. So they think they have one last opportunity to be a girl’s ‘mistake’ sex. Superbad!

Guy movie alert. GUY MOVIE ALERT! If you are female I suggest you not bother not because it’s crude. It just might not be AS funny to you as any of your male friends suggest. Mainly because it’s male humor---it’s about the penis this and penis that and as much as some females might like penis I don’t really think they’d get what was actually being talked about.

As an owner of a penis what did I think? HAHAHAHA. I just laughed…out of embarrassment for sitting next to a female who did not think it was funny and out of scenes that were just funny. I can’t imagine knowing people who talk the way they do in the movie. I mean I went to high school and I knew idiots and retarded people and psycho whores and none of them really talked like this. I could never use the F-bomb as some sort of ‘uh’ moment like they tend to do in this movie and apparently in real life situations. I like other words too much to downgrade to that mentality.

When I said penis talk well it wasn’t just penis talk it’s penis drawings. Yes…constant showing of penis drawings. I’m not going to say exactly why it happens but there is a reason. Is it a great reason? No. It’s a random raunchy reason. What should one expect from a movie called Superbad? I know.

I have a favorite character. Ha. I don’t normally have such or I have never mentioned one in my reviews. But I liked Evan. Evan was my favorite. He’s played by Michael Cera and he is the son from Arrested Development. He has a way of delivering lines that are so slow and under expressed that have me laughing. Seth (Jonah Hill) was the loud character who overreacted to every single little thing and Evan would just down play everything. They are such a perfect pair no wonder they are so Superbad!

Offensive to the ears the movie is and if that is a bother to you don’t bother. My friend had to take a shower when she got home because she felt so dirty after seeing the movie. You’ve been warned especially if you are a female.

If you are a guy you’ll laugh. Oh will you laugh. It is best if you go with your guy friends to see it because then you’ll feel freer to laugh at everything that you find funny. You won’t have to hear the “seriously is that how you guys think?” You can just spit your coke out your mouth and laugh, especially when Seth dances with a random woman at a random party. She gives him a parting gift.

I liked the humor for the most part but I really like the best friend story that was playing out. Evan and Seth are best friends and their friendship is strained a bit during the ordeal of getting to a party with drinks. I liked how that was part of the story and how it was shown---though I do wish that was played on a bit more.

But I shouldn’t expect much since this was Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg’s attempt at writing a movie at age 13. I’m sure they altered some of it to update it for the ‘now’ but can’t expect much from where it came from. Though to some it is just right and they’ll love it forever and ever amen.

I won’t buy it. I’ll laugh at the parts with other people when they mention it but it’s not a movie I could watch over and over again. Superbad is as I stated is…SUPERBAD---consider yourself warned or pumped up…whatever your gender you hail from.
