Her quote about the Wachowski's, however sounds like she has A.D.D.:
"So odd and so fun; they complement each other. There's something kind of great that you have someone who you absolutely trust like your brother who you can bounce ideas off of and finish each other's sentences 'cause you're not so lonely making these decisions. But they're very funny and very sweet; I think it's going to have a lot of heart - the film - because they really care about family. They come from a very tight family, and they came to visit - a very oddball family. It was fun and humbling because I didn't have much to do. It was a whole new experience which is why I did it, 'cause it's massive and it's technical and style. But I love the Wachowskis, I really do; and the cast was really sweet, and I've certainly never worked with a chimp before."OK, she said a lot and yet hardly anything of substance. She liked working with the Wachowskis, she didnt have much to do and she's never worked with a chimp. Got it. Thanks.
To her defense, she probably gave this quote as she was being herded down a press line and you dont have a lot of time to chat before you are shown the next nameless journalist in a long line of other nameless journalists who will probably ask you the same question.
Now that photography has been completed, news about the film will go into a quiet stage as the directors lock themselves into an edit suite and start the lengthy process of assembling the hours and hours of footage into something that will pack theater seats with lots of nerdy, consumer asses, eager to re-live their youth watching the live action version of a really-not-that-well-made Japanese cartoon.
Speed Racer is scheduled to open May 9th, 2008.
