A shuttle falls out of the sky and explodes and chunks fly everywhere. You may have heard about shuttle chunks flying out from space but this is a movie it’s not a news report. Yes a movie by the name of Invasion.
I’ve never seen any of the other movies that are remakes of the same idea of ‘body snatchers’. So I’m not going to be able to belittle this one for doing it again. Sorry.
I liked it just fine. I really like Nicole Kidman in all the movies I see her in. This doesn’t mean I like all her movies. I just think she’s a great actress and even if the movie is cruddy she is worth watching and I at least feel like I got my money’s worth. I suppose. Daniel Craig was up for James Bond while they were filming this movie and then he had to leave, during filming, to go to the press release of him winning the part. It’s just interesting how movies are tossed around and lost like this one apparently was. It had to go under massive rewrites because the production company was not pleased with the final cut.
I like Jackson Bond. He’s the little kid that played Oliver the son of Kidman. He’s so cute and did a great job and also was great to watch interacting with Kidman. I love their scenes together. They have this relationship where they name things from the same category and continue until one out-names the other. It’s amusing.
Invasion as a whole was alright. I don’t see how it could have been OOH better but it was as good as I thought it would be. Maybe a little under but not too much under that I was totally disappointed in what I saw. It was entertaining and interesting at some parts. I think the main thing that I disliked was the ending. There was just not enough to the ending that made the entire movie woohoo good. It was playing on how humans are emotional and that even though they are emotional that being such is human and to take it away leaves nothing—you won’t have a human. It wasn’t played up enough at the end. It did not tie it up and make me feel good that being a human with mass murdering idiots in control of certain countries is YAY for human thing.
Invasion is not a movie I want to own. I found some parts cool and if it were to play on the TV I might get sucked into watching it for a while but then I’ll change it to something like a rerun of The 4400. The only thing I can really say about Invasion is what I’ve already said in my title which was how it’s nothing more than….iiiiiiiiiiinteresting.
