To the uninitiated, Director Wes Anderson's work can seem quirky. Audience reaction to some of his previous films (The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou, the Royal Tenenbaums, Rushmore) ranges from either, "Fantastic and different" to "What the Hell was that?" So people are either going to be really excited or looking at their watches when the trailer for Anderson's newest film starts playing today.
"The Darjeeling Limited" stars Anderson favorite, Owen Wilson, along with Adrian Brody and Jason Schwartzman. It's the story about (as USA Today put it) "brothers who forge bonds on a train trip across India."
I realize that's not much of a description, but I'm sure there will be more to it than that. Anderson's work is off the wall, funny and usually very entertaining, so lame log line aside, my guess is that it will be an underground hit.
I was going to try to post the trailer online, but American Imperial Pictures - the studio releasing the film - apparently doesn't have a website or much of an online presence that I was able to find. Once people start seeing it in theaters however, I'm sure it wont take long before the trailer is up on YouTube. Once that happens, I'll post it here.
You can catch the trailer for "The Darjeeling Limited" in theaters that are playing "Once" and "Sunshine" starting today. The film is scheduled to open the NY Film Festival on Sept 28 and will then go into general release the following day.
