Instead of dancing in this movie Surf’s Up the penguins surf. That’s all.

It’s a simple cartoon with a simple ideal that is told rather blandly. The reason I give it a B and nothing lower is because the voices for the movie were perfect and there were funny moments. The animation was great. I loved the documentary style they did. It added to the humor at times.

The major problem that I had with Surf’s Up was that the characters were so likable but they were in a story that has been so over done and trite that it bored me. It brought nothing new to the table other than the characters. Everything they showed has already been shown before and the only major differences were now it was done with animals.

I am glad I don’t have kids because if I did I’d have to fight them to not want this movie if they wanted it. Surf’s Up is not one of those movies I’d be able to endure if it were shown over and over and over again on the TV screen at my home. Surf’s Up is too mellow to be worthy of the big screen. DVD is where it should have been at, dude.
