NBC Says Goodbye to Studio 60 and Remakes the Bionic Woman Instead

Its "upfront" time once again, that glorious time of year where all the networks cart out their new shows like proud fathers in the delivery room. All in hopes of scoring big on the Neilsen chart, thus keeping all the executives happily employed for another year.

And it's official: NBC has announced that "Studio 60 On the Sunset Strip" will not be returning. Kevin Reilly, president of NBC Entertainment, told TV reporters that the show has "run it's course." Which really means that the network didn't want to continue to shovel money into Aaron Sorkin's project when it was getting terrible ratings. Sorry to see it go, but we're sure that Sorkin will find some other project where he can have his actors talking incredibly fast, using tons of technical jargon and walking around for no apparent reason.

Among the new shows that NBC announced yesterday is a remake of the ABC series "The Bionic Woman" or as they put it, "a re-imagination of the classic" from David Eick ("Battlestar Galactica".

Here is a clip that they posted yesterday afternoon showing just a bit of the new look.

That's too bad about Studio 60. I was a dedicated fan.
