Tom is married to Sofia. Sofia has a great job. Sofia pops out a baby. She decides to be a home mommy. Tom decides to take her father up on his job offer and they move. Then enter Sofia’s ex. Things get wacky from there.

Zach Braff is a funny guy. I really like his acting. I do not like all the movies he’s in as a whole but him as an actor I really find funny. He has that simple manner in which to communicate humor to the audience. Paring him up with Jason Bateman was a grand idea. They played well together.

The Ex was a funny movie. Most movies that have an annoying character are annoying themselves. This movie isn’t annoying in that manner. It had good funny moments. It’s not a WHOA hurry and see it you’ll cry your eyes out because you laugh so hard kind of movie but funny in a haha that was cute kind of way.

I was not expecting a whole lot from this movie. I was just expecting to laugh and I did laugh so I guess I got what I expected. I do not plan on owning this movie. If you like Zach Braff you might just like this movie. I mean there isn’t a lot of swearing in it like his other movies so maybe it might disappoint you if that is what you found charming about him.

There’s just a bunch of silly moments that are strung together. There isn’t anything that stands out as something of pure funny. No sticking up hair moment because of “gel” kind of funny. But there is good B humor.

The Ex is a B type movie so don’t see it and expect more. Don’t take a date to this movie you might just end up having an ex. You have been warned.
