Lucas Talks About Indy 4

George Lucas talked with USA Today about the status of Indiana Jones IV. (or 4, or whatever)

Lucas said that Ford's age (64) won't be a problem. "He's not running in any of the movies. He's either on a horse or driving a car or a motorcycle. And he'll play his age in this movie with what's appropriate. The chases are more suspenseful than speedy. Like the rolling ball in the first film — it's not that he's running that fast, it's that there's a giant ball coming at him. And he will get beat up, which is a tradition for us."
We're sure that Harrison Ford loves that part.

The article goes on to say that Sean Connery hasn't signed on completely to play Indy's father. Says Lucas, 'We're still trying."

Waitaminute: I thought Connery was inked. Now they are saying that they are still trying to get him? As long as they don't resort to another actor if they can't, everything will be alright. The minute they start substituting actors for already played parts, its the minute you can bet this film will tank.

I thought Connery was a done deal too, and like you said, he'd better be signed up soon ... For a series this great, I'm willing to suspend reality regarding Harrison's age a bit, assuming the movie doesn't just otherwise somehow suck

If they can't get Connery, perhaps they can write around him. I really don't want to think of someone else trying to play Indiana Jone's Father. Hopefully he'll sign on quickly and they can get started.

Lucas commented that if things go according to schedule, they should have a teaser trailer out by Thanksgiving. I think that might be a bit premature, but it would be great to see.
