"Top Chef" gets Popular

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the extra long (by fifteen whole minutes) episode of Top Chef last week was watched by 2.2 million viewers, making it the largest watched episode ever for the culinary show.

The episode, which aired from 10-11 p.m., also was the top-rated cable program of the day among adults 25-54 (1.6 million) and delivered its largest audience in the adults 18-49 demo (1.6 million) to date, according to Nielsen Media Research.

Season 2 of the show, which was just picked up for a third season, is averaging 1.7 million total viewers, up 54% from the same point in Season 1.

Tune in next week when during the quickfire challenge, everyone just decides to "pack their knives" into Marcel's whiny, pompador-topped chest. As a bonus they add a wonderful cherry foam that really seems to be to the judges liking.
