Weekend Box Office Recap 11/17

James Bond gets beaten by a flightless bird.

It was the battle of the Tuxedos this weekend as Daniel Craig's "Casino Royale" came in second place to an animated story of penguins.

Links go to the film's rottentomatoes page.

1. Happy Feet $42.3 Million
2. Casino Royale 40.6 Million
3. Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan $14.35 Million
4. Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause $8.218 Million
5. Flushed Away $6.812 Million

Interestingly, "Jackass Number Two" actually improved in the numbers this week. Sitting at #35, it made $110,000 for the week and went up 75%.

"Bobby" the new film about Bobby Kennedy, came in at #41, made $67,000, playing on only two screens. However, this means that it's per-screen average was a staggering $33,500. As soon as this goes into wide release, we are sure it will jump in the numbers. And with Anthony Hopkins in it, can you smell a little gold dude named Oscar yet?
